Can we used the services exposed by the foundation module in Shell?

I am getting the following error message while trying to access the service in the Shell module.

Service is not available in the current context

Thank you

Hi,

Yes, you should be able to use services exposed by a foundational module in the Shell project.

Based on the exception that you are getting, the most likely places that could make it happen are:

1.       Do you have a line in your Web.config file defining the foundational module? You should have it inside configuration/compositeWeb/modules a line like the following:

            <module name="YourFoundationModule" assemblyName=" YourFoundationModule" />

2.       Are you setting dependencies from your Shell module to the Foundational Module? You can do it using a dependency node inside the Shell module node in your Web.Config file:

<module name="Shell" assemblyName="Shell" virtualPath="~/">

<dependencies>

<dependency module="YourFoundationalModule" />

</dependencies>

</module>

Let me know if this helps and if this does not solve your problem, please send more information so we can have a better understanding of your situation.
