Update Module Settings at run time

I would like to know the recommended way of storing application settings for modules and then updating them at runtime (by changing them on them on the server - not through the website).

I have a website with a few modules. The web site has a Web.config file which stores a few settings. When deployed on a server I am able to update the values of this file during runtime. The next user to hit the website will see the new values.

Currently, each module has a Settings.settings file. However I don't know of a way to change these during runtime as I can with the Web.config.

Does anyone have any advice for this?

Yuo want to change Settings.settings files as your site is running? Are the Settings.settings files locked? If you can change them, what prevents your module from checking for changes in its Settings.settings file and using the new settings?
