Hello,

When I try to install the latest version of WCSF and I get following error message right after the Blank CMD window POP up. Error Message "Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object"

By the way, I have older version of WCSF installed, and I couldn't find a way to uninstall it. It doesn't appear on the "Add or Remove Programs".

Help!

Have you found any solution to your problem? I have exactly the same problem.

I have installed:

- Guidance Automation Extensions
- Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for Windows Workflow Foundation.

When I try to install the Web Client Software Factory (january 2007) I get this exception:

Operation is not valid due to the current state of the object.

Anyone?

Do you have .NET 3.0 installed as well?

I also am getting this error as well.

I have installed:
- Guidance Automation Extensions
- VS 2005 Extensions for WWF and CTP versions for WCF&WPF
- VS 2005 SP1
- .NET 3.0

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Do you know which early drop you installed? All the downloads were numbered.

Was it a Zip or an MSI?
If it was a ZIP, you may need to unregister the Web Client Software Factory that you built using the source code before installing the new version.

If it was an MSI, the old version should be un-installable via the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel.

I may not understand. Just to clarify, when you say 'early drop' you aren't referring to the CTP versions of the extensions for the windows communication and presentation foundations are you?

If you are in fact referring to the web client software factory, I have never installed or built that before. I downloaded the 1.0.0.0 release today and ran into the same exact issue as the user mqlin.

Is there somewhere else I can find help on this issue or perhaps someone I can contact?

Could you do the following please:
  • Open a command prompt
  • Navigate to the folder you saved the MSI in
  • Run this command to create a very verbose log file from the installer:
    • msiexec /I ‘Web Client Software Factory - January 2007.msi’ /l*v WCSFInstall.log
  • When the installer appears, go through the steps until the error occurs.
  • Post the contents of the log file (WCSFInstall.log) here.

Unfortunately the logfile generated from the /l*v options is 913KB which greatly exceeds the 10000 character limit, however, I have posted the log here http://rafb.net/p/D6JiV219.html

Incidentally, I did notice this line before a swath of file deletes.
