It looks like even in your newest release you haven't fixed the dependency of trying to use Context in the application start which causes the "Request is not available in this context" when using IIS7 in Integrated mode. I have had a couple of margaritas tonight so I will bite my tongue especially after trying to install GAX and GAT and WCSF 2 over GAX GAT WCSF 1 ( msi needs to be completely redesiged. ).

Thank you for the quick response Michael. I didn't see in the documentation where it listed the support for IIS versions (my fault as I didn't look).

Please patch this ASAP.

Location : Microsoft.Practices.CompositeWeb.Services.WebConfigModuleInfoStore.GetConfiguration(string configFilePath)

This fix is simple, and the System.Web.HttpRuntime has been available at least since .NET 2.0

So unless you have other dependancies on the HttpRequest object in the Application_Start event, this is not a breaking change and is actually a better design decision

WCSF does not support IIS 7 in Integrated Mode.

If this is an issue you feel strongly about, please create an item in the Issue Tracker, and get people to vote for it.

In the meantime, if you want to support it, you do have the source code. :-)

While this isn't solved, there are two workarounds:

  1. Changing the Composite Web Application Block
  2. Changing the application
